SOLSTICE
by PanteaAEW
Sometimes in life, we humans become puppets, moving to the thin strings of others’ gazes and judgments. We dance, we laugh, we strive to be perfect and accepted not for ourselves, but for the eyes around us. Gradually, we forget that true joy springs from within, not from the approval in someone else’s smile. But then comes a moment when we grow weary of this endless performance, of mimicking happiness. It is then that we dare to break these strings one by one terrifying, yet liberating. With each cord that falls, another “must” and “must not” slips away from our minds. And finally, we realize that real dancing is the one we do for our own hearts with no audience, no judge, completely free. It is in that moment that the soul comes alive again. POEM AND MUSIC MADE BY ME I dance with hands that aren’t my own, in a show written by others. They smile and I spin through tears, just to please them, just to belong. Enough… I no longer wish to live for their eyes. I tear the strings one by one. They fall away, and with each snap, their faces fade, Now I dance for myself. Free. 🌙✨
